I was once asked? "Sir, why is it, in my personal experience, i do not see the same measure of miracles and power as recorded in the Bible? It seems, you who preach are selling us hot air and the Bible is just there to pacify us.
In my response i said something i would like to share with you...
My brothers and sisters stop making yourself the hero of your story. When you read your Bible, learn first to identify who or what represents you in the story. For example; When you read the story of Moses and the Israelites, you are not Moses!! you were the enslaved Israel. In the story of David and Goliath, YOU ARE NOT DAVID. You are the timid army which ran and scurried behind bushes in fear of Goliath. Moses and David represent Christ who comes to deliver the fearful and incapable people. It is unfortunate that we exegete these scripture whilst we sit in seat of the Hero; hence in our strength, no deliverance takes place. The Bible teaches us of the Power of God towards us, not the other way round.
I believe you are going to see more of the power of God if you'll change the Hero of the Story. LET CHRIST WORK THROUGH YOU AND NOT YOU WORK THROUGH HIM...
